In actual art news (gasp! Me? Actually post some art? It is a rare thing these days! ) I'm almost finished with five new pieces (the main cast from Tsubasa for new fanbadges, and a fun picture of the Ame Warashi from xXxHOLiC) and I have the lineart for a 6th completed (Yuuko from xXxHOLiC in her butterfly kimono!!) I have sketched ideas for a few other projects (an original character design of a faery girl, more TayxFai work, and a 4th of July-themed Kuro/Fai piece) so I'm finally being productive again! It's amazing how being married realigns your schedule (happily, I might add...but not so much art time now). My husband is very supportive of my art though, so he's excited too about me and my muse getting along again. Look for a chunk of new art posted soon, hopefully this week some time.

I love this! I know it's not directly art-related, but it is something all of us artists could stand to hear (as we're a rather emotional bunch, myself included!) So, meditate on this, and enjoy!

Attitude

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstanc es, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.

Hey hey minna-san! Today is FREE COMIC BOOK DAY. Go find your local comic book store and show them some love (and get a free comic!) My hubby ~spottyskunk and I will be visiting two local OKC stores (yeah, we're whores for free things) before we head downtown to a matinee showing of the Lion King musical.
